In 2025 Ultimate Tattoo Supply was in need of a rebrand, and I served as the Senior Art Director and chief designer on the project. My role was a collaborative effort with the Senior Creative Director and Senior Designer for the company. Below are some of my favorite contributions to the project: Logo design, palette, web design and some real world examples for their latest Labor Day sale. Additionally I helped define the overall vision for typography and photography on the project.
For the logo, inspiration came from the surf and skateboarding industry, specifically brands that emphasized a more utilitarian approach. That helped define the framework. The U was an important part of the original logo, but I wanted to connect it more to the tattoo industry. The current U mark resembles the curved magnum tattoo needle. Additionally that U shape serves as a container element often used in marketing efforts.
For the palette, UTS needed to feel modern, but not heavy like many other tattoo supply companies. This led to the primary feature of a faded Dark Blue and a tempered Coral. The rest of the colors within the palette help give life and variance to daily marketing and brand communications.
