For most of my life, I have been drawn to science and technology, the occult, aliens, and fantasy. While my commercial work occasionally touches on those subjects, my personal practice embraces them more fully, finding comfort and inspiration in their possibilities.
This new series marks a more intentional exploration of those themes. In the past, they often appeared as warm-up sketches, doodles, or passing ideas, but were rarely developed into a cohesive vision. Over the last few years, that vision has evolved into a world I call Weirdies—a name that began as a casual joke but gradually took on greater meaning and significance.
Through this series, I delve into a dark, futuristic science-fiction landscape populated by strange and often unsettling beings. While some of these figures may appear monstrous, that is not their defining characteristic. Instead, they are imagined as complex individuals who have lived full and meaningful lives. Though they may seem intimidating at first glance, I see them as worthy of empathy, connection, and love.
